About the Role

The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Water Services Branch, you will provide technical support, advice, and supervision to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment and supply systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in water treatment technologies, drinking water infrastructure, and preventative maintenance activities
  • Conduct technical reviews and provide input on design, operation, and policy development
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve system efficiency and effectiveness
  • Supervise and mentor staff to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety protocols
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering (e.g. Civil, Environmental, Biosystems, Mechanical, or Electrical)
  • Registration as a P.Eng. with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) or eligible to transfer within three months
  • Experience in water and/or wastewater treatment technologies, drinking water infrastructure, and preventative maintenance activities
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising staff and managing projects
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and health work practices
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Acts and Regulations
