Job Summary:

The Superintendent is a key member of the Tomlinson Group of Companies, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and lead a team of qualified personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and control project costs, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Lead and manage a team of foremen and crew members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure high-quality workmanship and materials.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective information transfer and coordination.
  • Attend project meetings and site visits to ensure project progress and address any issues or concerns.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports to track project progress and performance.

Requirements:

  • Construction Engineering Technician or Civil Engineering Technologist degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of industry experience, with 5+ years of demonstrated effective people management experience.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and team leadership.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
