Job Summary:

The Construction Superintendent at Tomlinson Group of Companies is a key leadership role that requires expertise in construction management, project coordination, and team supervision. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects, meeting specifications, and requirements from applicable agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of construction teams, ensuring safe working conditions and adherence to quality control measures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and government agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring budget compliance and identifying areas for cost savings.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to foremen and crews, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to complete projects successfully.
  • Attend project meetings, site visits, and other relevant events to ensure effective communication and project progress.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure projects meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of project progress, including schedules, budgets, and quality control metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Construction Engineering Technician, Civil Engineering Technologist, or similar education considered an asset.
  • 10+ years of industry experience, with 5+ years of demonstrated effective people management experience.
  • Sewer & Water and/or Grading experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a construction industry environment.
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Work requires regular travel.
