The Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registration/Scheduling Clerk to join our team at IWK Health. In this role, you will be responsible for timely patient registration and processing, providing general clerical support to team members, and scheduling of clinic appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients for clinic appointments and professional staff appointments
  • Greet and direct clients, ensuring a positive experience
  • Accurately enter and revise patient information into our electronic health record system
  • Complete various health forms as required
  • Schedule Immunology Clinic appointments and other identified appointments
  • Receive and relay messages via phone, fax, and email
  • Maintain adequate supplies and order as needed
  • Provide general support to clients and staff, including requisitioning lab tests and procedures, filing, photocopying, and making telephone calls
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate from a recognized office administration diploma program preferred
  • Previous experience in registration and scheduling is strongly preferred
  • Experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting an asset
  • Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs, including email and MS Word, required
  • Previous experience with Meditech and CWS an asset
  • Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and initiative required
  • Competency in other languages considered an asset
