Portfolio Management Associate - Project Finance

Join our team at BMO Capital Markets, a leading financial services provider, and contribute to the success of our clients in the project finance sector.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Management Associate to support the management of a project finance portfolio across various industries and asset classes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the portfolio management team in analyzing project finance transactions, including credit analysis, due diligence, and financial modeling.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual and interim review write-ups, including risk and mitigant reviews, and propose sensitivities for each transaction.
  • Coordinate with credit and operations teams for portfolio management activities, including acting as Administrative/Collateral Agent.
  • Contribute to the identification of exceptions and escalations, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics with outstanding academic achievement.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project finance origination or portfolio management experience, with proven experience analyzing project finance transactions.
  • Proven experience in closing project finance transactions or negotiating complex amendments and sensitizing project finance financial models.
  • North American sector, market, and asset class knowledge across power, utilities, infrastructure, energy, and energy transition will be an asset.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Creative problem-solver with intellectual agility and curiosity.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
