The Residential Protection Program plays a pivotal role in analyzing and coordinating Alberta's initiatives for new home buyer safeguards and builder licensing - Operates with a high degree of autonomy in executing significant program functions and policy initiatives. This encompasses the interpretation, assessment, and application of the New Home Buyer Protection Act (including builder licensing, relevant regulations, and operational guidelines), aligned with the department's strategic objectives.
Directs project efforts to ensure thorough contributions from subject matter experts and timely completion of initiatives - Collaborates with program personnel to implement projects aimed at enhancing daily operations, often in response to inquiries and concerns from key stakeholders and the public.
Effectively manages and represents the interests and priorities of the Residential Protection Program regarding consumer safeguards and builder licensing in public discussions - Facilitates the operation of the program's advisory groups, requiring engagement with stakeholders to ensure that government directives or stakeholder feedback is actionable at the program level.
Formulates recommendations and solutions to tackle policy and legislative challenges to address both current and future needs - Facilitates policy dialogues and provides insights from the program that can lead to legislative proposals. Collaboration with RPP staff, other TCS program sectors, and both internal and external stakeholders is essential for delivering projects that enhance program operations.
