Responsibilities

Field Activities

  • Conduct environmental site assessments and remediation projects in accordance with established health and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate and complete contaminated sites projects, including Phase I, II & III Environmental Site Assessments, hydrogeological investigations, soil/groundwater/surface water/sediment/soil vapour sampling programs, and contaminated site remediation projects.
  • Assist in surveying and sampling hazardous substances, including asbestos and lead.
  • Complete documentation of field activities, site health and safety meetings, and chain of custody forms.
  • Prepare and contribute to environmental assessment reports, including data tables, borehole logs, test pit logs, GIS/CAD, etc.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain project specific equipment.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with laboratories, clients, subcontractors, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Compile and analyze data.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project proposals and presentations, and client liaison.
  • Assist in report writing and preparation of technical memos, letters, reports, spreadsheets, and figures.
  • Coordinate and manage project tasks, budgets, and schedules.

  • Participate in professional associations and contribute to Dillon's corporate profile.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, or geology.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and independently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and operating a 4X4 truck in an off-road environment.
