As a vital contributor to the Human Resource Management team, the Total Rewards Manager will engage in the formulation and implementation of the organization's HR priorities and goals. This role is essential for the coordination and oversight of the company's comprehensive employee compensation and benefits framework. The incumbent will ensure that all initiatives and operations adhere to corporate compliance and accountability standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs, executes, and oversees compensation programs and services across the Brandt network, including compensation philosophy, job design/evaluation, market analysis, and pay structure.
  • Collaborates with the Payroll Manager to guarantee compliance and precision in the processing of compensation and benefits plans throughout the Brandt network.
  • Partners with the Brandt Finance team on system reporting, compensation modeling, and the establishment of a budgetary approval process related to compensation systems.
  • Works alongside the Recruitment Manager to ensure alignment between performance and compensation, integrating the performance management system with the compensation and benefits framework. Additionally, ensures that the hiring process aligns with budgetary considerations.
  • Develops, implements, and manages the Brandt Employee Pension & Benefit program, focusing on cost management and competitive market positioning.
  • Conducts research on best practices and trends, making recommendations to enhance compensation programs and services. Reviews program components, suggesting modifications to philosophy, policies, practices, processes, and methods. Implements necessary controls to identify and mitigate risks in reporting.
  • Establishes and implements compensation KPIs to enhance service delivery and improve compensation processes and practices.
  • Ensures adherence to employment standards and regulatory requirements concerning total compensation programs. Evaluates the impact of regulatory changes on programs and recommends or implements necessary adjustments. Guarantees effective and consistent application and administration of compensation practices.
  • Provides senior management with specialized expertise and guidance on compensation programs, highlighting critical issues and opportunities as they arise; participates in relevant discussions at the executive level. Also leads or contributes to initiatives as directed, providing specialized knowledge in areas of responsibility.
  • Oversees reporting staff, including selection, development, coaching, performance management, and all other personnel management practices. Additionally, supervises department staff through reporting leaders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in Human Resources or Finance, coupled with direct experience in total compensation management, preferably in a multi-provincial context. Achievement of a Certified HR Professional (CPHR) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is preferred. Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) experience will also be considered.

  • In-depth knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, methods, and techniques in the human resources field, with a focus on compensation, organizational design, and data analytics.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of addressing sensitive human resource issues and influencing others to provide specialized expertise, advice, and guidance across all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to oversee the assessment of compensation matters, including job evaluation, and to manage related solutions and decisions.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant employment standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage both directly and indirectly reporting staff.
  • A professional and resourceful approach; capable of working independently and collaboratively, leading by example, taking initiative, and managing multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail and a consistent focus on fostering positive employee relations.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
