Position Overview
The Student IT Service Desk Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of information technology systems, enabling end users to effectively complete their tasks. This role involves utilizing diagnostic tools and help request tracking systems, as well as providing in-person, hands-on assistance at the desktop level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver first-contact support for incoming service requests via telephone, web portal, email, and chat, ensuring courteous, timely, and effective resolution of user issues.
- Assess and prioritize incidents and service requests in accordance with established processes to meet defined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Document and escalate incidents to the appropriate technician when necessary.
- Employ remote tools and diagnostic utilities to facilitate troubleshooting.
- Verify solutions to ensure incidents are resolved satisfactorily.
- Notify management of emerging trends in service requests.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic PC hardware.
- Experience with MS-Windows 10 desktop and server operating systems.
