Role Overview
The Warranty Service Manager in our Ottawa Division plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily functions of the Warranty Service Department. This position is crucial in ensuring that homeowner service requests are addressed efficiently and effectively, aligning with our commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of warranty service tasks while maintaining budgetary constraints, which includes:
- Collecting, reviewing, and scheduling warranty service requests for both 30-day and year-end assessments.
- Providing immediate resolutions to deficiencies, including mediation and inspections.
- Evaluating repairs conducted by Warranty Service Technicians for quality assurance and timely completion.
- Coordinating with trades to ensure timely service delivery in accordance with warranty guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with Senior Builders and Trade Partners, maintaining open communication with the Construction team regarding recurring issues and homeowner feedback.
- Lead and develop Warranty Service personnel through performance management, coaching, and talent retention strategies.
- Establish and nurture relationships with homeowners, demonstrating professionalism even in challenging situations.
- Manage urgent service requests post-closing, including emergency support for model homes and sales offices.
- Ensure site compounds are kept clean and presentable.
- Engage in community events and contribute to training sessions at Mattamy University.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Construction, Urban Planning, or Leadership, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- A minimum of two years of demonstrated leadership experience.
- Five years of experience in customer service or construction roles.
- Experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and painting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with trade contracts and Tarion regulations.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage diverse workloads.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in a dynamic work environment.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual capabilities.
- Experience in the homebuilding industry.
