Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Director of Client Operations, your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Overseeing a team of fund accountants tasked with client deliverables, including NAV calculations, financial statements, and related reports;
- Ensuring your team is well-trained, motivated, and operating efficiently to meet organizational objectives;
- Collaborating with investment managers, brokers, and auditors to address daily operational challenges;
- Coordinating with various departments, such as Investment Operations, finance, regulatory compliance, and banking, to guarantee timely deliverables;
- Engaging in multiple system enhancement initiatives, both global and local, while identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements;
- Maintaining the accuracy of client deliverables produced by your team, adhering to service level agreements;
- Managing the audit process, preparing financial statements, or reviewing those prepared by external parties;
- Ensuring compliance with operational controls as outlined in SOC1 and completing all relevant checklists;
- Overseeing timely billing and collection of fees for your assigned team;
- Participating in various system projects and contributing innovative ideas for future process or technological advancements;
- Handling any additional tasks as required by clients, the organization, or team members.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary education or university degree with a focus on finance or accounting.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the fund administration sector, including staff management experience. This may involve interactions with other administrators, investment managers, or fund auditors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- A comprehensive understanding of the fund administration industry, including various fund structures, fee calculations, financial instruments, and fund offering documentation.
- Experience with fund accounting software such as Geneva, Investran, or Yardi is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg is beneficial but not mandatory.
