Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join our Application Services team at J.D. Irving, Limited. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of passionate technologists who deliver high-quality products and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead application development projects through the software development lifecycle, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to build and manage relationships.
  • Provide thought leadership to the team on solution design, capabilities, and agile product development.
  • Lead an agile product team to ensure quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Act as a liaison between architects, business analysts, and development teams.
  • Provide leadership in automation and design thinking.
  • Contribute to the application development technology plan and vision.
  • Responsible for technical solutions, technology stacks, and security testing.
  • Coordinate the workload, initiatives, and projects of the team and ensure commitments to customers are delivered.
  • Assess the effectiveness of delivery processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Define, update, and communicate web application development best practices for technology stacks to team members.
  • Responsible for end-to-end technical assurance, technical governance, and technical best practices.
  • Contribute to operational effectiveness by working closely with other domain leaders.
  • Provide technical leadership, foster a collaborative team environment, and provide coaching and feedback to technical team members.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of progressive and related work experience.
  • A University Degree or Community College Diploma.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle and development methodology.
  • Experience with cloud-based application design.
  • Proficient in software concepts for Android and iOS devices.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members, overseeing code quality, and evangelizing best practices.
  • Experience with securing applications to common security threats (OWASP Standards).
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and development techniques for building solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated skill facilitating and building consensus among process stakeholders.
  • Project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
Desired/Preferred Skills
  • Experience in application development platforms and technology stacks.
  • Experience and understanding of integration approaches and Azure Cloud services.
  • Experienced in front-end and back-end development.
