Job Overview

Join our team at Tom Smith Chevrolet Buick GMC Limited as an Automotive Body Repair Specialist. This permanent position offers a full-time work schedule ranging from 40 to 44 hours per week, primarily in English.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspection: Assess repaired vehicles to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Repair Planning: Strategically plan repair tasks to optimize workflow.
  • Customer Service: Maintain professionalism while interacting with clients.
  • Test Drives: Conduct test drives to verify vehicle handling and performance.
  • Workspace Maintenance: Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Apprentice Instruction: Provide guidance and training to apprentices.
  • Component Replacement: Replace damaged front-end and body components, including doors and frames.
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare body surfaces for painting by filing, grinding, and sanding.
  • Painting Preparation: Mask and tape surfaces to ensure clean paint application.
  • Dent Repair: Utilize tools to remove dents and imperfections.
  • Part Replacement: Remove and replace damaged fenders, panels, and grills.
  • Painting: Apply primers and paint to restore vehicle aesthetics.
  • Interior Repair: Repair or replace damaged interior components.
  • Window Repair: Address issues with windows, windshields, and sunroofs.
  • Paint Mixing: Mix paint to achieve desired colors and finishes.
  • Frame Straightening: Use specialized equipment to straighten bent frames.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in automotive body repair or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the automotive body repair field.
  • Tools: Must possess personal tools, including steel-toed safety boots.
