About the Role

We are seeking an Estate Manager to join our Consumer Insolvency team. As an Estate Manager, you will assist with planning and delivery of consumer insolvency services, including data analysis and review of financial records. You will also assist with administering formal insolvency appointments, developing relationships with referral sources, and preparing relevant documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and delivery of consumer insolvency services
  • Assist with data analysis and review of financial records
  • Assist with administering formal insolvency appointments, including bankruptcies and proposals
  • Develop relationships with current and potential referral sources, including credit counsellors, debt counsellors, lawyers, and accountants
  • Prepare and review relevant documentation, including Statements of Affairs, 170 Reports, Court Orders, and Affidavits
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to debtors and ensure debtor needs are met
  • Maintain high-quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues or key risks relevant to the debtor
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset
  • Completion of the Insolvency Administration course and/or BIA Insolvency Counselor course
  • Working towards, or willingness to work towards, a CIRP designation is considered an asset
  • 4 to 5 years of insolvency experience; professional services experience outside of insolvency will also be considered
  • Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
