About the Role

MNP is a leading national accounting, tax, and business advisory firm in Canada. We are seeking a skilled Estate Manager to join our Consumer Insolvency team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and delivery of consumer insolvency services, ensuring high-quality results and exceptional client experiences.
  • Analyze financial data and review records to identify areas for improvement and optimize outcomes.
  • Administer formal insolvency appointments, including bankruptcies and proposals, with precision and attention to detail.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, such as credit counsellors, debt counsellors, lawyers, and accountants.
  • Prepare and review BIA documentation, including Statements of Affairs, 170 Reports, and Court Orders, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify innovative solutions to deliver added value to debtors and ensure their needs are met.
  • Maintain high-quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues or key risks relevant to the debtor.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Travel as necessary to support team efforts and client needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset.
  • Completion of the Insolvency Administration course and/or BIA Insolvency Counselor course.
  • Working towards, or willingness to work towards, a CIRP designation is considered an asset.
  • 4 to 5 years of insolvency experience; professional services experience outside of insolvency will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
