We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at the Ontario Convention Center. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other support personnel.
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
- Monitor and control food and labor costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Develop and implement effective cleaning and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with other departments, including banquet, catering, and concession, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or other management personnel.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role, preferably in a high-volume food service environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as local health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
The Kitchen Supervisor will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and physical demands. The ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods is required.
