Role Overview: We are looking for a committed Observability Engineer who possesses specialized knowledge in OpenTelemetry frameworks and Google Cloud. This position is well-suited for an individual who excels in monitoring and observability within Google Cloud Platform environments and has a robust background in deploying OpenTelemetry solutions. The ideal candidate should be skilled in remote work, demonstrating outstanding communication skills, and capable of creatively and independently tackling complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and oversee observability and monitoring solutions on GCP, utilizing OpenTelemetry frameworks. Develop monitoring solutions to guarantee high availability and performance of applications and services in the cloud. Collaborate with development teams to embed observability tools and practices into the software development lifecycle. Perform thorough analysis and troubleshooting of intricate system issues using observability tools. Create custom instrumentation, metrics, and logs to improve monitoring capabilities. Keep abreast of the latest advancements in GCP observability and OpenTelemetry.

Essential Qualifications:

Expertise in implementing and managing observability tools on GCP, with an emphasis on OpenTelemetry frameworks. Experience with Terraform. Familiarity with Kubernetes and GKE. Strong understanding of cloud-based architectures, particularly within the Google Cloud Platform. Proficiency in scripting and automation for integrating observability tools in cloud environments. Capability to work autonomously in a remote setting, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in a cloud context. Practical experience in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues using monitoring and observability tools. Proven ability to enhance system performance and reliability through effective observability practices.

Mandatory Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience in GCP, observability, or a related field. Google Associate Cloud Engineer Certification or another Google Cloud Professional level certification. Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing OpenTelemetry solutions. Background in cloud-based monitoring and troubleshooting. Technical degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
