Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

Position Overview:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production team and ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage various production activities while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor production staff, directing activities on assigned shifts.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide necessary feedback to team members.
- Make informed decisions and take initiative in daily operations.
- Embody and promote the core values of Bimbo Bakeries USA.
- Organize employee schedules and production timelines in a unionized setting.
- Participate in safety investigations and manage workers' compensation cases effectively.
- Strive for production efficiency while minimizing waste and enhancing product quality.
- Be adaptable and willing to engage in hands-on tasks as needed.
- Monitor product compliance with established specifications.
- Maintain knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and health regulations.
Qualifications:
- A relevant post-secondary degree is required.
- Experience in a unionized environment within the food, dairy, beverage, or packaged goods sectors is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in diverse cultural settings.
- Proven leadership abilities and sound judgment in operational decisions.
- Familiarity with effective labor/management practices, including disciplinary procedures.
- Understanding of health and safety standards and best practices.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational schedule.
