Clinical Interventionist, Provincial Preschool Autism Services

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Interventionist to join our Provincial Preschool Autism Service (PPAS) team at IWK Health Centre. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will provide assessment, intervention, and coordination of services to preschool-age children with autism and their families.
The PPAS is a partnership between IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health, Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia, and Autism Nova Scotia. Our goal is to provide person and family-centred services to preschoolers across Nova Scotia who are suspected of or have a diagnosis of autism. We are committed to creating an efficient, sustainable, and integrated continuum of health services for preschool-age children with autism.
As a Clinical Interventionist, you will work closely with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized intervention plans. You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities- Provide assessment and intervention services to preschool-age children with autism and their families
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with families and healthcare professionals
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities
- Work collaboratively with interprofessional teams to provide comprehensive care to children and families
- Provide supervision and support to Program Implementers and other team members as needed
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body in Nova Scotia
- Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle
- CPR certification within the last 12 months and certification in First Aid
- Two years of recent experience working with children with autism (ages 0-6 years old) and their families
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for children with autism
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and ability to provide assessment and development, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of intervention plans
- Demonstrated ability to work within an interprofessional collaborative practice framework and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
