Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in the interdisciplinary Seniors LINCS team, providing services primarily in the community setting. This dynamic professional works collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and family members to facilitate, restore, and maintain optimal function in areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure. The OT provides consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up to maximize patient function and independence. Additionally, the OT may offer clinical support to Geriatricians and other physicians in the ambulatory care setting. With excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, the OT establishes individualized treatment plans and goals, manages a busy caseload, and utilizes clinical judgment and decision-making skills to prioritize daily tasks. The OT contributes to the clinical education of OT students and related health disciplines, supervises Rehabilitation Assistants, and adheres to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures, as well as the professional standards of the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
About YouWe seek a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist who possesses the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
- Licensure with the provincial regulatory body, the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, is mandatory
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate education programs and interact positively with patients/clients, families, other healthcare providers, and staff
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively planning, organizing, and supervising
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
- Must be able to work alone or with team members in all service settings
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Permanent Full-time / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
- Evening/Weekend/Holidays may be required
$33.97 - $42.89 Hourly
