About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Buyer to join our team at Ikou Inc. as a Merchandise Coordinator. This is a permanent position that requires a strong understanding of market trends, product selection, and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Research and Analysis
    • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends.
  • Product Sourcing and Procurement
    • Arrange product according to planogram to ensure optimal store displays.
    • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms.
    • Maintain adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
  • Inventory Management
    • Review requirements of the establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
    • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring high-quality products that meet customer expectations.
  • Travel and Trade Shows
    • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Computer and Technology Skills
    • Proficient in spreadsheet software (e.g., MS Excel).
    • Familiarity with MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
