About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Buyer to join our team at Ikou Inc. as a Product Sourcing Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for arranging products according to planograms, establishing and maintaining contact with suppliers, and negotiating prices, discounts, and credit terms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and efficient supply chain.
Requirements
  • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in buying or procurement, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
