About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is seeking three full-time Geriatricians to lead frailty care in a collaborative team-based environment. Located in Sydney, the hospital provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient, and community-based programs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead frailty care as a zone leader
  • Work in a collaborative frailty team in the emergency department and acute care
  • Provide frailty-informed urgent care in the first 72 hours of a patient's illness
  • Be part of Nova Scotia Health's Division of Geriatric Medicine and adjunct appointment and research opportunities with Dalhousie University's Division of Geriatric Medicine
  • Focus on at-risk, under-served populations, including older adults who live with frailty, and anyone who is indigenous, and those who live with addictions
Expected Hours
  • Full-time
Qualifications
  • Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
