About the Opportunity

Cape Breton Regional Hospital is seeking a Geriatrician to lead the frailty care team in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will work with nurse practitioners, OTs, pharmacists, physios, and social workers to provide urgent care in the first 72 hours of a patient's illness.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the frailty care team in the emergency department and acute care
  • Provide frailty-informed urgent care in the first 72 hours of a patient's illness
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
  • Focus on at-risk, under-served populations, including older adults who live with frailty, and those who are indigenous, and those who live with addictions

Qualifications:

  • Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
