About the Role

In the Centralized Procurement team, you will play a crucial role in addressing housing affordability issues. Your analytical prowess and negotiation expertise will be vital in executing strategic sourcing and planning for complex procurement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various business units to develop sourcing strategies and provide industry-specific procurement expertise.
  • Oversee the open tender process and negotiate contracts to secure optimal value for CMHC.
  • Manage supplier relationships and address any issues that arise.
  • Enhance the procurement knowledge of team members through development initiatives.
  • Liaise with contract management stakeholders for support and processing.
  • Contribute to the establishment of procurement objectives for CMHC.
  • Offer guidance on the development and implementation of corporate contracting policies.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in public procurement, including three (3) years in complex bid facilitation.
  • Familiarity with public procurement principles, privacy legislation, and trade agreements.
  • A customer-focused approach to procurement and contract management.
  • Proven negotiation skills and a strong understanding of contract management.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Strong project management abilities and capacity to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in conducting thorough analyses and employing critical thinking to solve complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation.
