Position Overview: Lyft is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Accounting Manager to become a vital part of our Controllership team. This position involves overseeing daily accounting operations while also engaging in project-based initiatives aimed at optimizing our accounting processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the revenue cycle, ensuring effective oversight of collections, deferred revenues, and adherence to revenue recognition standards.
  • Foster relationships with external partners, including EDC and joint ventures, while managing related quarterly entries and processes.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and execute accounting procedures in line with the monthly closing schedule.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other stakeholders to gather information and provide insights on accounting matters, including streamlining transactions for new business initiatives.
  • Support the reporting process by compiling financial data for SEC disclosures and assisting with external audits.
  • Develop and implement scalable accounting processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Actively engage in system implementations and integration efforts.
  • Prepare government reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting as required.
  • Undertake special projects and ad-hoc assignments within the Accounting/Finance domain.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA designation is preferred.
  • 5-6 years of relevant accounting experience, including tenure at a Big 4 firm and in manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and principles of Revenue Recognition.
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual with outstanding organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in accounting research, problem-solving, and managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French; capable of effective communication in English with colleagues outside Quebec.
