**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Helper to join our team at Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre Inc. As a Community Helper, you will play a vital role in providing services to children, youth, and families residing in our neighborhood catchment area.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement programs and services to address specific needs of the neighborhood.
  • Work collaboratively with community structures and community development processes.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous organizations.
  • Provide advocacy services to support the needs of our clients.
  • Utilize strong written and keyboarding skills to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Operate Microsoft Word program to create documents and reports.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities with strong organizational skills.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Engage with clients and build helping relationships with a high level of respect.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to support the growth and development of our clients.
  • Valid Manitoba driver's license and access to a vehicle would be an asset.
  • Provide updated Criminal and Child Abuse Checks.

**Requirements:**

  • Experience in community development and outreach.
  • Strong knowledge of community structures and processes.
  • Excellent advocacy and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid Manitoba driver's license and access to a vehicle would be an asset.
