Job Title: Head Chef

Board 'n' Barrel Restaurant Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimating and Managing Supplies: Estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items, ensuring we maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize waste.
  • Labor Cost Management: Estimate labor costs and ensure efficient use of staff to maintain productivity and quality.
  • Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to inform menu planning and pricing decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Menu Planning and Development: Create new recipes and menus that meet our quality standards and appeal to our customers.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, as well as leading and instructing individuals to achieve our culinary goals.
Work Environment:

As a Head Chef at Board 'n' Barrel Restaurant Ltd, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of standing and physical activity. You must be able to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and management.

Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 44 hours per week.
