AltaGas - Senior HRIS Specialist
The Senior HRIS Specialist will be an integral part of our HR Operations team, overseeing various functional aspects of our HRIS (Workday). This position will engage collaboratively across HR and the broader organization to manage and facilitate projects focused on system improvements, maintenance, and the enhancement of business processes throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a pivotal contributor in establishing foundational architecture within Workday, encompassing comprehensive employee lifecycle processes.Perform functional area impact assessments related to changes in the system, analyzing effects on business processes, reports, calculated fields, security, and more, while documenting findings in detailed workbooks.Configure Workday business processes, including notifications, validation rules, and related documentation, while identifying enhancement opportunities aligned with the HRIS strategic roadmap.Support system upgrades, quarterly releases, testing, validation, and overall performance evaluations.Document business requirements systematically and create process documentation following the implementation of changes in HRIS procedures.Ensure data integrity within Workday and associated systems through rigorous audit processes and analytical reviews.Manage the HRIS support mailbox, responding promptly to internal and external inquiries, and resolving issues efficiently. Identify automation opportunities while maintaining excellent service for stakeholders.Collaborate with functional leads and stakeholders (e.g., HR, Technology, Payroll/Finance) on Workday development and enhancement initiatives, translating business needs into technical specifications and implementing scalable solutions suitable for AltaGas's current and future requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.5+ years of HRIS experience in Workday, specifically in Core HCM, Absence Management, Compensation, Benefits, or Talent modules.Proficient in advanced Excel, working with large datasets and utilizing complex formulas and functionalities.Strong comprehension of HR functional areas in relation to HRIS, along with experience in systematizing HR processes and procedures.Experience in troubleshooting end-user and systems interface issues within a mid- to large-sized organization.Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Demonstrates self-motivation and the ability to see projects through from inception to completion.Strong customer service orientation and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.Exceptional time management, project planning, and communication skills, both verbal and written.Workday certification in one or more modules is preferred.Experience with system integrations and data migrations.Familiarity with SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools.
