Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Treaty Specialist to join our team at Munich Re. As a key member of our reinsurance team, you will be responsible for drafting and interpreting reinsurance treaties, amendments, and related documents. Your expertise will be essential in supporting our business analysis and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and interpret reinsurance treaties, amendments, and related documents, including policy forms, LOIs, and pricing files.
• Assist with general business analysis and compliance activities, ensuring ongoing compliance with home office guidelines.
• Collaborate with clients, either directly or through client managers, to draft new treaties and amendments, facilitating internal approvals as needed.
• Maintain Munich Re's treaty templates, in both English and French, and document any exceptions to the template.
• Work with our legal advisors to develop appropriate contract wording, ensuring consistency across treaties.
• Ensure that Munich Re's internal treaty log is up-to-date, and that any exceptions to template wording are appropriately documented.
• Produce periodic management reports related to treaties, providing valuable insights to our team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Law, English, or similar, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant life (re)insurance experience.
• Fluency in English and French languages, verbal and written.
• Knowledge of living benefits products is considered an asset.
• Reinsurance treaty experience is considered an asset.
• Technical writing experience preferred.
• Strong time management skills and an ability to manage competing demands with little supervision.
• FLMI designation is desired.
