Intermediate Building Science Project Manager

Position Overview

EXP is looking for an Intermediate Building Science Project Manager to enhance its Building Engineering Services Group in the Cambridge, ON office. The selected candidate will oversee all facets of project management related to building science initiatives, encompassing the responsibilities outlined below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting proposals
  • Supporting senior personnel in providing technical direction to junior team members and clients
  • Writing and reviewing reports generated by junior staff
  • Conducting building condition assessments, performance audits, Bulletin 19 evaluations, asset and property assessments, reserve fund studies, and coordinating various building repairs
  • Creating specifications and drawings for rehabilitation and design projects
  • Building strong client relationships and fostering new business opportunities
  • Mentoring junior staff members

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of technical experience with a demonstrated ability in project management and business development
  • A university degree in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is considered an asset
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario is advantageous
  • Experience in conducting reserve fund studies and supervising staff in RFS execution
  • Proficient in building condition assessments and design, with the capability to lead junior staff in BCA tasks
  • Experienced in coordinating building repairs, including roof and window replacements, balcony, cladding, and parking garage repairs
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site visits are required
  • Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Capability to thrive in a high-demand, fast-paced environment
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on leadership
  • Exceptional team-building skills with the ability to inspire others
  • Leadership experience is a plus
