As an Infection Prevention and Control Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors. You will provide expert guidance and support to care teams, managers, and other stakeholders on best practices for infection control.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and advisory support to healthcare professionals, management, users, and visitors regarding infection prevention and control measures.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of comprehensive infection prevention programs and action plans aligned with established standards and procedures.
  • Support Infection Prevention and Control service managers in effectively managing outbreaks and complex situations, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses.
  • Develop and deliver engaging educational programs on infection prevention practices to various healthcare teams and departments.
Key Duties:
  • Contribute to the ongoing review and revision of infection prevention protocols based on epidemiological trends, user needs, advancements in knowledge, and organizational quality improvement goals.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing appropriate monitoring and performance indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of infection prevention programs.
  • Analyze collected data, interpret findings, and disseminate actionable recommendations to healthcare teams to enhance infection control practices.
  • Ensure strict adherence to established infection prevention policies, protocols, and procedures across all areas of care delivery.
  • Effectively manage complex situations involving multiple patients or care areas, coordinating resources and implementing appropriate control measures.
  • Standardize surveillance parameters and tools, analyzing infection data to identify trends and potential risks.
  • Lead outbreak management efforts by promptly identifying cases, defining outbreaks, and implementing effective control measures in collaboration with public health authorities.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree in infection prevention, a specialized nursing title, and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential for success in this role.
