Role Overview:
As a seasoned Operations Supervisor, you will guide our dedicated team of Powerline Technicians in providing efficient and reliable electric service to our communities. This position is crucial for maintaining operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction within our electric distribution framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the electric distribution system, ensuring reliability and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of powerline technicians and team leads, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Handle labor relations with a solid understanding of collective agreements and effective management in a unionized environment.
- Coordinate maintenance, construction, and emergency response operations, optimizing resource allocation and scheduling to meet operational goals and customer requirements.
- Develop and implement operational strategies and action plans to improve efficiency, reliability, and service quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, customers, and regulatory agencies, representing ATCO Electric professionally.
- Monitor and manage operational budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Utilize data-driven insights to guide decision-making and operational enhancements.
- Effectively respond to emergencies, coordinating resources and communication to minimize impact and restore service promptly.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Powerline Technician (PLT), relevant Technology Diploma, or Post-secondary degree.
- Demonstrated experience in utility operations, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a strong preference for experience in electric distribution.
- Several years of experience in a leadership capacity, managing teams in a technical or operational setting.
- Familiarity with electrical utility regulations, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Valid Alberta driver's license and willingness to travel within the service area as necessary.
