Claims Adjuster – Commercial Auto

As a pivotal member of the Commercial Auto Claims team, you will be instrumental in managing claims for our organization. Anticipate collaborating closely with your supervisor and fellow Claims team members to expedite claims resolution while frequently engaging with Underwriting teams. Together, your mission will be to secure optimal outcomes for our clients by proactively addressing and settling claims.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage moderate to complex claims related to commercial auto physical damage, third-party property damage, third-party bodily injury claims, accident benefits, and loss transfer claims, including Long-Haul Trucking and Cargo, Fleet, and Non-Owned Auto policies.

· Evaluate coverage and prepare pertinent correspondence to communicate with brokers and insured parties as necessary.

· Provide guidance and hold independent adjusters and third-party administrators accountable as required.

· Assess liability exposure along with salvage and subrogation potential.

· Maintain comprehensive file notes, prepare internal reports, ensure timely reserving, issue payments, and set electronic file diaries in accordance with best practices.

· Coordinate and manage communication with both internal and external stakeholders (including underwriting, brokers, reinsurers, and external vendors) to deliver the highest level of customer service. Participation in new account and renewal discussions may be necessary.

· Consult with Claims Management on significant losses and ensure all necessary steps are taken to achieve the best results.

· Identify, monitor, and report on emerging trends within the insurance sector and legislative changes.

We seek candidates who possess the following qualifications:

· Moderate experience in managing Long-Haul Trucking and Commercial Auto Physical Damage claims, Accident Benefits, and Loss Transfer claims.

· Comprehensive understanding of Statutory Automobile Policies across all Canadian jurisdictions.

· A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.

· Attainment or pursuit of Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation is preferred.

· Exceptional customer service orientation.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

· Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a team environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
