At VON Canada (Nova Scotia), we are seeking a dedicated professional to lead our Home and Community Care initiatives.
Job Details:
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (1.0 FTE)
Program Focus: Occupational Therapy, CAPABLE & Employee Support
Work Schedule: Days
Hours Bi-weekly: 75
Location: Hybrid-remote with required travel within Nova Scotia
This position will oversee two key programs: the CAPABLE program and the Employee Support Program.
The CAPABLE initiative is designed to improve the functional mobility, independence, and safety of economically disadvantaged adults aged 65 and older, enabling them to remain in their homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate the delivery of client care services and the daily operations of front-line staff in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Assist staff in conducting risk assessments and investigations related to client or employee incidents.
- Regularly monitor performance against funder expectations and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to meet performance goals.
- Guide new hires through the orientation process and ensure completion of probationary reviews and retention interviews.

- Engage proactively with various members of the home care and clinical management teams.
- Build effective internal relationships across departments to support departmental goals.

Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Program.
- Certified and Regulated Occupational Therapist.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
