About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Manager, Software Development, to lead our growing team of software engineers. As a key member of our organization, you'll be responsible for driving the development of powerful and intuitive software applications that exceed user expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead high-performing software development teams, fostering collaboration and personal growth.
  • Manage projects by understanding business partner strategies, priorities, and challenges, and delivering expected value.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including task assignment, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Build and direct multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, coordinators, scrum masters, and PCOs.
  • Write comprehensive project reports, respecting key performance indicators and project risk management.
  • Effectively manage project delivery, maintaining dashboards and staying up-to-date with industry trends and technology innovation.
  • Collaborate with other software engineering managers and project managers to ensure staffing and resource allocation.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems, managing stakeholder expectations and senior management relationships.
  • Maintain a strong business focus, understanding the current and strategic direction of Intact technologies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Software Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience managing a team, with a proven track record of leading agile development teams.
  • Strong understanding and experience with web application technologies, including Java, JavaScript, Angular, and REST.
  • Experience in continuous delivery management, object-oriented development, and software debugging.
  • Experience in change management and transformation within a project/program context.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, specifically in claims, is a strong asset.
  • Bilingualism is required for candidates located in Quebec, with the ability to interact with English-speaking colleagues.
