About the Role:

The Operations Manager for the Surgery Program at Mackenzie Health is responsible for leading and directing all business aspects of Perioperative Services. This includes materials, supplies, dashboards, and other data collection, monitoring, and analysis, as well as OR efficiency metrics and vendor-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of business strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and clinical divisions to ensure alignment with Quality Based Procedure (QBP) funding allocations and other revenue opportunities.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate financial planning and decision-making.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and databases to support operational decision-making.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • University degree in a related field (Business, Finance, etc.) from an accredited educational institution; MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' recent and related experience in financial management and inventory control in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered; PMAC designation preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office software programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) as well as supply management information systems; knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  • Experience analyzing financial business performance and developing business cases to lead change within the organization.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate various activities.
  • Exposure to Lean principles and a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to use these in support of improving the delivery of healthcare to patients.
