Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Management Specialist with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), your primary focus will be overseeing the financial operations of various projects within a designated country.

You will collaborate closely with the finance department at our headquarters and engage with project teams in your assigned country. Your responsibilities will encompass budgeting, financial oversight, cash flow management, and the preparation of financial proposals and reports for institutional donors and MSF headquarters. Additionally, you will supervise administrative personnel and liaise with local authorities and organizations. As a member of the management team in your country of assignment, you will be stationed in the capital, with regular visits to field projects.

Qualifications

Educational background and experience in financial administration (accounting and reporting) and financial management (planning and budget oversight) At least two years of relevant experience in a comparable position Understanding of human resources management Proven capability to function as part of a senior management team, including responsibilities related to project planning Experience in managing a multicultural team (supervision and training) Proficient in English and French (minimum B2 level) or another language (Arabic, Spanish) Relevant travel or work experience in environments similar to those where MSF operates (armed conflicts, natural disasters, public health emergencies, or healthcare exclusion situations) Willingness to commit to a duration of 9 to 12 months

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with financial guidelines from major national and international funding institutions for budgeting and reporting Ability to navigate and operate within various legal frameworks Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various accounting software
