About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a key member of our food services team, you will be responsible for planning and preparing meals that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes, and menus, including preparing special meals to meet therapeutic menu modifications.
  • Assist with preparation of food for special functions, such as catering and theme dinners, to ensure service meets established standards.
  • Report any recipe shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Clean and sanitize cooking stations daily, and maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment to meet legislative and organizational standards.
  • Follow disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a high-school diploma or equivalent, current food handlers' certificate, and at least one year of experience in cooking. You should be able to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire and have the ability to read and follow detailed recipes and instructions. A passion for the healthcare sector and ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care is also essential.
