Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Full Time Intervenor to support individuals who are deafblind. As an Intervenor, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities- Support individuals in their daily lives, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Use communication techniques to facilitate effective communication and relay information.
- Empower individuals to participate and succeed in all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, volunteerism, and community engagement.
- Provide personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, and medication administration.
- Assist in developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
- Contribute to program development and ensure accurate documentation and records.
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
- Communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
- A competitive wage starting at $23.03/hour.
