Part Time Intervenor to Support Deafblind Individuals

Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a Part Time Intervenor to support deafblind individuals in their daily lives. As an Intervenor, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals who are deafblind to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities:- Support deafblind individuals in their homes and communities, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Use communication techniques to relay information and facilitate interaction between deafblind individuals and their environment.
- Empower deafblind individuals to participate and succeed in daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and community engagement.
- Provide personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, and medication administration.
- Assist deafblind individuals in developing and achieving their goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support and services.
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
- Communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
- A competitive wage starting at $23.03/hour.
