About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our Long-Term Care Home in Port Hope, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide overall leadership and management to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to our residents, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with our Regional Director to manage all financial, physical, and human resources for the various departments, ensuring the facility operates within budget.
  • Team Development: Recruit and develop a high-performing team by fostering an environment focused on knowledge sharing, skill building, and continuous improvement.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with residents, families, and the local community to promote our mission, vision, and values, and to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Accountability: Take ownership of the facility's operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Hold a post-secondary degree (3-year program) or post-secondary diploma (2-year program) in health or social services.
  • Certification: Administrator's Certification (Minimum 100 hours of instruction time completed or enrolled*).
  • Experience: At least 3 years of working experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in the health or social services sector, or in another managerial or supervisory capacity, if the Long-Term Care Administrator Certificate has been successfully completed.
  • Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated effective leadership, communication, and comprehension skills; a passion for helping others; excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills; customer-focused attitude; ability to generate creative solutions and new approaches to daily challenges; knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices, principles, and legislation; and sound knowledge of basic accounting principles and applicable legislation.
