We are in search of a Senior Project Manager to become a vital member of our team. SNC-Lavalin specializes in the design, development, and delivery of engineering solutions, including system planning, procurement, and construction services for high voltage power transmission lines and substations across North America and beyond.

This role will report directly to the Director of Project Delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate with other discipline managers, technical leads, and project managers to oversee various projects within the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in engineering design and leadership, demonstrating a proactive approach to managing multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing activities such as budget management, scheduling, quality assurance, engineering support, procurement assistance, construction management, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be accountable for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Identifying and managing potential contractual and commercial risks.
  • Establishing objectives and defining tasks for the project team, delegating authority, and collaborating with the project director on risk-sharing strategies.
  • Effectively managing the project from both technical and financial perspectives, in alignment with corporate policies and procedures, while safeguarding the project's commercial interests.
  • Facilitating communication and coordination with clients and within the project team, including subcontractors and partners.
  • Overseeing all technical documentation necessary for project execution, including technical studies, design basis, conceptual and detailed designs, technical specifications, fieldwork, tender phase services, construction phase services, and record drawings.
  • Promoting a culture of ethical and professional practices in engineering execution.
  • Ensuring successful project delivery in accordance with established targets, such as schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Implementing health and safety protocols to protect employees and the environment, while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Project management accreditation (PMP) is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of project management experience, particularly within a large design team.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and project management processes.
  • Results-oriented mindset combined with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills, along with comprehensive knowledge of all project management functions.
  • Experience in Transmission and Distribution, particularly with major utilities, in an EPCM environment is a significant asset.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $122,000 - $160,000 annually, determined by various factors including skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
