Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Expert to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our Compensation team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and executing North American strategies to ensure fair pay for all employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement compensation strategies to ensure compliance with pay equity legislation and voluntary initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice and counsel to senior leaders on compensation matters, including internal and external program effectiveness assessment and governance.
  • Conduct independent analysis to resolve strategic issues and provide recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Manage day-to-day regulatory requests and reporting requirements to ensure BMO meets regulatory requirements in applicable jurisdictions.
  • Identify internal and external emerging issues, trends, and needs to inform business strategies and decisions.
  • Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
  • Develop the business case by identifying needs, analyzing potential options, and assessing expected return on investment.
  • Recommend business priorities, advise on resource requirements, and develop a roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Provide design requirements to help define and advance compensation strategy.
  • Act as the prime subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with outside service providers for programs and ensure all required activities are completed.
  • Define business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision-making.
  • Provide advanced analytical and other project support in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs.
  • Lead change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Lead the development of the communication strategy focusing on positively influencing or changing behavior.
  • Collaborate across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behavior.
Requirements
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert knowledge of compensation theory and program design methodology.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
  • Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth/Expert.

BMO offers a competitive salary range of $92,400.00 - $171,600.00, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
