We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to offer guidance, coaching, and assurance to our operations, focusing on the Safety Maturity Model, Safety Performance Standards, Critical Risk Management, Risk Assessments, safety inspections, and compliance with legislative and legal requirements.

Reporting to the Senior Safety Coordinator, your responsibilities will encompass:
Advising and supporting departmental operations to ensure compliance with safety systems and adherence to provincial and federal regulations Promoting safety compliance and assisting the engineering team with contractor engagement Aiding in safety investigations, coaching leaders on report preparation, implementing corrective actions, and sharing insights across sites Monitoring safety performance metrics to instigate workplace improvements Understanding and promoting adherence to the HSEQ Management System and relevant safety standards Ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and legislative requirements Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of risk assessment processes, including hazard identification and control implementation Coaching leaders on balanced risk management approaches and assisting in the development of safety policies and documentation Executing the annual Health and Safety plan while supporting operational leaders in enhancing safety maturity Influencing and coaching leaders and frontline personnel on essential health and safety tools and processes Conducting assurance activities to evaluate control effectiveness and identify improvement actions Developing and disseminating relevant safety information to operational leaders Coordinating site initiatives that promote health and wellnessQualifications
Technical Diploma in Health & Safety 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar industrial environment, such as mining or manufacturing Strong teamwork capabilities Proven ability to cultivate relationships, influence stakeholders, and achieve results Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in computer applications, including web-based systems and Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Qualifications
