Job Summary

We are seeking a Casual Cardiology Technologist to join our Cardiology team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various cardiology tests, including Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, and holter monitor testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ECG testing, stress testing, holter and/or event monitor testing, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) testing.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions in preparation for testing.
  • Scan and analyze ECG, stress, and holter monitor test strips, and summarize for interpretation by medical staff.
  • Enter patient test information into Meditech to provide Electronic Health Records database for client/patient files.
  • Maintain appropriate files and reports according to established department procedures/policies.
  • Demonstrate ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment to students and new staff.
  • Provide orientation and training to ECG staff and other hospital staff as directed.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing items as required, and complete requisitions for repair using established procedures.
  • Distribute patient reports to appropriate wards and/or departments.
  • Provide input and assist with the development, implementation, and update of department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level.
  • Two years of recent related experience.
  • Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
