Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at Cancomm Contracting Ltd. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer networks and providing top-notch support to our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate access and use of computer networks to ensure efficient and secure data transfer
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to optimize network performance
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues
  • Perform routine network start-up and close-down procedures, maintaining accurate control records
  • Conduct data backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity
  • Supervise technical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure team success
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers, refugees, youth employment, Veterans, and Indigenous people
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Requirements
  • College/CEGEP education in a relevant field
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in computer network administration
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
