Job Title: Computer Network Technician

We are seeking a skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at Cancomm Contracting Ltd.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating access and use of computer networks, maintaining and troubleshooting LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. They will also evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software, provide problem-solving services to network users, and perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate access and use of computer networks
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Supervise technical staff

Support for Veterans

The successful candidate will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Veterans.

The successful candidate will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.

Support for Visible Minorities

The successful candidate will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities.

This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek and English as the primary work language.
