Salary Range: $1, $2,832.86 per week

About the Role: OPG is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Mechanical Engineer to become part of our Renewable Generation team at the Atikokan location. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient, and economical operation of our thermal and hydroelectric generating assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mechanical engineering assessments, inspections, and evaluations for the commissioning and operation of turbine generators and auxiliary systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and commissioning plans.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance and operational activities.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Respond to equipment failures and conduct field investigations.
  • Develop and implement standards and procedures for maintenance and asset management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Valid Class G Ontario driving license (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within an industrial context.
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a commitment to obtaining a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation.
  • Experience with mechanical systems in an electricity generation facility is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
