About the Role: OPG is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Mechanical Engineer to be part of our Renewable Generation team at the Atikokan location. This role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and economical operation of our thermal and hydroelectric generating assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct mechanical engineering assessments, studies, and inspections for the continuous operation of turbine generators and auxiliary systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, construction estimates, and commissioning plans.
• Provide technical support for maintenance and operations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including contractors and government agencies, to facilitate project management activities.
• Respond to equipment failures and emergencies, conducting investigations and preparing reports with recommended actions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Valid Class G Ontario driving license (or equivalent).
• Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within an industrial context.
• Registration with PEO as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and commitment to obtaining a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) certification.
• Experience with mechanical systems in an electricity generation facility is advantageous.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of relevant safety regulations.
